Piff the Magic Dragon

Piff the Magic Dragon is the stage persona of John van der Put, a British comedian and magician who performs in a dragon costume with a deadpan, misanthropic delivery. The act pairs accomplished sleight of hand with a sustained comic character, subverting the conventions of both magic and stand-up.

Rising to wide attention on television competition programs, Piff has built a long-running Las Vegas residency, demonstrating the commercial durability of a tightly conceived character act. His work is a notable example of magic built entirely around a comedic persona.
